Mark Potse, PhD

I'm a scientist affiliated with the Cardiovascular Research Institute Maastricht (CARIM), Maastricht University, as well as with the Experimental Cardiology department of the University of Amsterdam. [my past and present affiliations]

My research concentrates on 3 topics: myocardial ischemia, heterogeneity of ventricular repolarisation, and the development of realistic computer models of the electrophysiology of the human heart. [more about my research]

My PhD is in physics, from the University of Amsterdam. I have been active in cardiac electrophysiology since 1994. First I worked on computer analysis of multichannel ECG data. Then I switched to simulation. Presently, I am trying to do both, in order to better understand the heart and its diseases.
